I’m a huge fan of the genre. Some of the modern stuff is crap, but the traditional black church used to be pretty solid.

I don’t want to derail the thread too much but Andre Crouch was a prolific gospel composer. He was uber talented and much of his work was able to “cross over” to mainstream evangelical hymn books.

One of my favorites:

Good writers for sure! Waiting for the next generation to step up. As a student in Bible College in the 80's, we had it all as far as talent. What a wonderful time for a bunch of preacher wanna-be's!
