Oh boy! I did it.
My friend and I meet every Wednesday for prayer. The weather is still gorgeous, so we got ourselves out by the pool in the sunshine. We ended up talking about what God was doing in our lives. She has known some serious things were happening in mine, but I kept telling her I did not think it time yet to tell her what. Her and I are very close, so it has been excruciating not to tell her. I wasn’t afraid to tell her, but I didn’t want to drop this on her without knowing for sure from Holy Spirit the timing. Husband gave me the go ahead weeks ago.
My friend is very prophetic, so I kinda thought Holy Spirit would tell her. He kept giving her dreams and words of knowledge that did
line up with what He was doing in our lives, but it wasn’t on her radar what they even meant only that she had to tell me. I am not going to lie, I kept hoping He would give her words that would counter what I thought He was saying to us, so I could be “let off the hook,” but it was quite the opposite.
As we shared he depths of our hearts she began looking at me strangely. She asked, “ Who gives a nose ring?” I was like- WHAT?! She said you have a nose ring made of gold light in your nose. She took a picture and I could also see it! She then said- oh- it’s from Jesus. I said, like Abraham’s servant gave Rebekah. It’s an ancient symbol of wealth and betrothal- it’s gift of precious value also given as a symbol of a binding pledge of marriage. She said- yep that’s what I know is true in my spirit. I knew at that moment I was going to end up telling her. Also, this brought so much joy to my heart because with how God has been speaking to me lately there have been times I wasn’t even sure He liked me and just two days ago I had told husband that. Husband didn’t agree with me and reminded me He disciplines those He loves. This picture is a treasure to me.
We discussed Ashteroth and feminism and Isaiah 3-4. I told her about Peter Rambo’s book on headship and authority that husband and I have been reading that has really opened our eyes to understanding biblical patriarchy even more. She wanted a link for it. Then it just fell out of my mouth. At first she was defensive, but she knows the word, and soon she was taking in the truth and seriousness of it and mentioned that her husband brought it to her attention 3-4 months ago!!! She had shut the conversation down. I explained to her that the kindness of God revealed this to me first and then requested that I share with husband otherwise I would have done the same. She had visible visceral reactions, which I completely understood as I had them myself.
She assured me that whatever God was about to do she and her husband would stand with us and probably would be involved in some way with whatever it is God would ask us to do in the coming days.
What a huge weight lifted off of me. It was a deep conversation that challenged us both and we both were refreshed and ready to face what is next together. She has been receiving words about husband and I and her and her husband being involved with marriages and children. She has been confused by what this all means, but we have not. God coded her words to us so we understood, and she didn’t, which was super fascinating. Now she gets them better.
We have been praying for God to prepare the hearts of our loved ones to hear. We know their response is not our concern, obedience to God is, but it would sure be more pleasant if they are able to hear the Word of God and not their emotions.
Husband is not pursuing, but waiting on God if adding a wife is His will. In the meantime he is getting things in order and God is revealing to him systems of management. Husband painted a room and we are getting it ready.
We get up each morning, hear His voice and obey. Right now it seems all about preparation. For him it is practical and for me it is mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Telling another person outside of this paradigm was another giant step in the rewiring of our lives as we step into greater alignment with His will. What a relief that this first time was so positive and filled with love, compassion, and acceptance. I realize not all will be like this, but what a kindness of God that the first one was.
