Froggie Family Chronicles

Closing comment to tidy things up (very late sorry).

Sadly, following the difficulties shared in this thread, the Froggie family venture into polygamy was ultimately unsuccessful (last we heard). All people involved would no doubt benefit from prayer.

Knowing that this was the result, the story as shared here has many valuable lessons that can be learnt about how to avoid this. I would encourage the reader to ponder the details of this family, and consider for themselves what the red flags are that indicated problems. We can learn as much from failures in life as we can from successes, which makes this a valuable story to remain up here.

For instance, consider:
- Who was the spiritual leader of the family?
- Who made the decisions?
- Who raised and promoted the idea of polygamy?
- What was their motivation, why did they want to bring this particular extra member into the family?
- Who had to work to hold the family together when things were difficult?
- How did the husband's role and attitude line up with scriptural advice for husbands?
etc. Plenty of food for thought here, that's just to get you started if you're struggling.

These difficulties were in some ways exacerbated by the fact that information was shared publicly here without the consent of all family members (as you'll have seen in the final few posts). Although we encourage publishing real stories of polygamy as they are very encouraging for others, it should go without saying that public interest is far less important than the stability of your own marriage. We will also need to keep a closer eye on this ourselves to avoid it occurring in future.
