• Biblical Families is not a dating website. It is a forum to discuss issues relating to marriage and the Bible, and to offer guidance and support, not to find a wife. Click here for more information.

I have been with biblical families from the beginning and have see a lot of people come amd go. It was very biblical focused and discussion was open on all topics. It seems though there is a slight less of a focuse on the bible as in the beginning it was very focused on that. I might be wrong in some peoples eyes. But we need to return to the bible more. I have been pouring and poundering why this might be the case. One thing I have noticed I have seen in the last year or two is if a new person comes along amd asks a questiion that there is a thread to some seasoned members will say there is a thread already on this subject and refer them to that thread I think that might show a little less engagement to the subject the new person asked about. Of course this view might be wrong to some. We need to return to reading Gods word and praying

I can’t say I disagree in total, but as someone who has referred others to existing threads, it’s not to discourage interaction, it’s to expose someone to what’s already been discussed, thereby giving them a new perspective from which to then comment on further. I can’t say I’ve done it always, but I still offer a small answer to their initial inquiry in addition to added links or references.

As far as Bible discussions, I can see where you’re coming from. I think in the earlier days, there were not as many online resources arguing the biblical position of polygyny. Now, there are multitudes. Often, now, folks come on here AFTER they’ve been convinced of its permissibility by exposure to other sources. The conversations then turn to opinions rather than biblical justifications because they’re pretty much on board.

I could be wrong. If you have specifics, they can be addressed more specifically.
