God a Patriarch?

Can we say that God is a patriarch or has the nature of one, being he's the Father of the human race and created Adam, the first patriarch in the flesh?
 
It would be erroneous to do otherwise, since He overwhelmingly describes Himself in Patriarchal Husband and Father terminology, and He should KNOW! ;)
