Great/inspirational quotes

When people talk of worshiping in some building on earth, and think of a ritualistic service as worship, and talk of worshiping God in music, it simply shows that they do not understand. In every moment of a believer’s life, he is sitting in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. The place of our abiding is in the immediate presence of God with nothing between.

Harry Ironside (1876-1951)
Charge That To My Account (1931)

Cursed is the man that trusteth in man and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 17:5-8

When the word truth was mentioned, she was asked by a college professor how truth is defined? Here is her answer.

"Truth is an accurate description of all things that exist."

~ Sandra Juan Gabriel

"It’s a lot easier to get out of the system than to get the system out of you.”

Wayne Jacobsen

“Alas, today the pulpits are occupied with the praise of man; man’s wonderful discoveries and inventions are dwelt upon. His wisdom and cleverness are extolled. Man is practically deified, while God is deposed, or bowed out of His Own creation. It is the gospel of humanity that is preached, rather than the Gospel of God.”

E.W. Bullinger, The Book of Job, 1910

"Don't teach your children to peel back the layers of the onion if you want to hide in an onion."

Winston Borden

"It is a mistake to think of chaos as a condition independent of God and His operations."

– Dean H. Hough
One of my most faith building experiences was a time when it felt like everything went wrong, but in hindsight it was YHWH making what could have been a bad situation amazingly good. I learned through that to trust in spite of how chaotic things might feel. We walk by faith, not sight. (Or feelings either)

"God’s answers are wiser than our prayers.”

Croft M. Pentz (1931-2008)

If men will cease taking themselves so seriously and accept God’s statement that “we can do nothing against the truth but only for the truth” they will not be so fearful of the task of plunging into the study of the Word of God. The Bible may be deep, but if need be, I prefer to drown in it, rather than to be battered to death by the waves of human ignorance, human error, superstition, and opinion. Those who meditate upon the Word of God day and night are called “blessed.” That word means “happy.” And I claim to be one of those happy men.

"Any single verse of the Bible, taken in isolation, may actually be dangerous to your spiritual health. Every part of it must be read in relation to the whole message."

Louis Classes (1922-1974)

"Distrust those in whom the desire to punish is strong. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)"

Trust Him. When you have done that, you are living the life of grace. No matter what happens to you in the course of that trusting - no matter how many waverings you may have, no matter how many suspicions that you have bought a poke with no pig in it, no matter how much heaviness and sadness your lapses, vices, indispositions, and bratty whining may cause you - you simply believe that somebody else, by His death and resurrection, has made it all right, and you just say "Thank you" and shut up.

The whole slop-closet full of mildewed performances (which is all you have to offer) is simply your death; it is Jesus who is your life. If He refused to condemn you because your works were rotten, He certainly isn't going to flunk you because your faith isn't so hot. You can fail utterly, therefore, and still live the life of grace. You can fold up spiritually, morally, or intellectually and still be safe. Because at the very worst, all you can be is dead - and for Him Who is the Resurrection and the Life, that just makes you His cup of tea.

“No one has the truth who merely happens into its possession through the accident of birth. He really has it who fights for it, and possesses it who gains it through conquest.”

Alan Burns

“As human beings with limited spiritual vision, we can only see the tangled and knotted threads which represent the problems of life. From God’s point of view, however, there is a beautiful tapestry woven and stitched with love. The stitches are often painful and cause our hearts to bleed, but the finished product is a beautiful masterpiece of God’s design.”

Dreama Whitlow, 2017

We read not only that the members composed together are the one Body, but that this Body is Christ. We have always considered Christ as the Head; we have considered little, if at all, that Christ is also the Body. He is the Body because the Body is composed of so many members who are filled with Christ. Christ is in you, Christ is in me, and Christ is in every one of us. We all have Christ within. The Christ in you is one with the Christ in me, and the Christ in us is one with the Christ in all other Christians. Therefore, Christ is the Body composed of so many members who are filled with Him.

Witness Lee (1905-1997)
