Hi! My name is Jamie, and my husband is Dan. Recently Ive wrestled with the idea of polygamy and decided to find this forum to learn and see the other side of the debate. I believe my husband and I have a woman in our lives who would fit us, and im amazed by how the whole thing has fallen into place. Shes such a wonderful person to be around and I genuinely enjoy her company! Im also, skeptical, unsure the biblical arguments, jealous, insecure, and fear the social isolation and backlash. Yet also at the same time, my husband is an amazing person and I know this woman would benefit tremendously. It would absolutely make my husband happy too! Its a mixed bag of emotions and logic and im hoping to find a landing spot and see all perspectives. Anyway, hope to meet new people here, especially other wives who have already been in my shoes. Looking forward to chatting!

Welcome! I hope you and your husband will find some good things here. It sounds like the Lord has been showing you some good things about polygyny and how it can be a great benefit to another wife and the rest of the family. Good on you for having "ears to hear."

Some of the ladies get together for a video chat on Tuesday nights at 7:30 est. You can find the link and more information about it here.
https://www.biblicalfamilies.org/forum/threads/ladies-chat-tuesday-nights-7-30p-est.16519/ I hope you will consider joining us at some point.

One more thing, would you mind taking the time to designate your gender, please. It really helps when reading posts to know if you are "listening" to a man or a woman. It also will allow you to post in the Ladies Only thread if you ever desire to do that. You just have to go into your account and scroll to the bottom where the gender question is. Blessings!

Welcome!

Welcome Jamie!
There is certainly a lot of new ideas and emotions that come up when you accept polygyny as a biblical option.

I have shared a few things here in the forums that have helped me make sense of my inner conflicts....or to be more specific my uncertainties about how to be a friend to my sisterwife .....when I have never had close or trusted friends. The most recent thing that has helped me understand myself better was a quiz about attachment styles. Even if you are secure in your marriage there are elements when you add a sisterwife that can change your feelings and make everything harder on everyone. It is important to take your thoughts captive, and that might be easier if you understand where they are coming from....what past experiences have conditioned you to expect or fear. I wanted a sisterwife for 20 years before the wished for life became reality. I have a very compatible and wonderful sisterwife. I have still had to work through complicated emotions and changes (I am 53 now) and the hardest aspect for me was even being able to identify WHAT I was feeling in the first place. I am very thankful for the help He has provided me...step by step....that has given me peace and hope...and direction for growth and change.
My sisterwife is very glad that I was willingvto welcome her. She says she "Found her people" and I would say her confidence has increased with the security she feels in her marriage.
The Biblical arguments won't matter to the majority of the people who will judge you. They can help you to not be "double minded" about your own course of action. I always figured that a sisterwife in my daily life would be the easy choice over judgemental family members and friends. How often do you see them anyway? Some will come around. I'd much rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not!

I hope you ask questions as you come to them. Nevada is a big state and so is Arizona. We are in Central Arizona. If you get this way let me know. We like visiting in real life.

Love that quote "I would rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not."

Thank you for the wonderful hello and welcome to my post. I really love that you pointed out attachment theory. In fact, ive spend extensive time studying and reading everything I can on attachmemt theory and it utterly transformed my husband and I's marriage! Its so important and im thrilled it has helped you as much as it has our family. ♡

I saw that you mentioned living in Arizona. Im in Pheonix occassionally. Id love to meet you when im in the area

Are you ever at the ladies Tuesday night meet ups? My first one was last week and I plan on going to more.

Its been a very eye opening journey. I just finished reading A Man of Options by Robert Kiowaski and The Biblical Case for Polygyny by Nelson and Braunstien.

I really look forward to knowing you more! Feel free to message me, since im unable to for some reason?

Practically never. I forget, or just let my less social inclination decide.

I think you are also limited in sending messaging. Stops people from contracting every known member of opposite sex and turning forum into dating website.
