Is it right or wrong

@James A, For sure our Father does have a wonderful sense of humor. I echo @Joleneakamama's comments. Discernment is always wise. I also understand though why teens (anyone for that matter) find it humorous to imitate others with their quirks and peculiar mannerisms. The biggest hoot is how well some can pick up on and reproduce the various peculiarities which brings the house down. I truly don't think any of the kids meant any disrespect towards those they were imitating. I'm glad they felt at ease enough to "let their hair down" and have at it with their antics and imitations. When you think about it, the ones doing the imitating were at risk themselves of being laughed at by their group of peers. They took the risk and probably learned something about themselves in the process. Laughing with others about life sure does go a long ways towards warding off the doldrums and negativity this world throws at us daily. I think your question can be sifted by asking, "Were they disrespecting the office or the person?" We show respect for the office of the president of the USA, but often the person is the butt of many a joke. Just being a common bloke might put you at some small risk of being imitated. The higher up the chain of leadership one advances, the greater the chances of being watched/imitated. It just comes with the territory.

I'm also glad you felt like you could ask this question and were willing to receive feedback on something that bothered you. You took the risk to be vulnerable and open to criticism both positive and negative. Just know that those responding to you do so in love. Everyone benefits when we come alongside of each other. So be encouraged because your friends have given you feedback.

Ok, that was a test. Did you:

A) Laugh?

B) Feel shocked and offended?

C) Laugh and then decide you should have been offended so decided to say B even though it wasn't true?

A. And not only did I laugh, but I considered it to be a rather succinct summary of corporate Christianity. I worry less about what atheists might do to denigrate our God than I do about how organized religion misrepresents Him.

Now that is wisdom. Well said And written. Reminds me of how Andrew writes. The forums needs more of this. A voice of reason outside the petty side taking to every issue that is the norm of the forum's.

AAAAA! and I whole heartedly agree with @Keith Martin's comment on how the churchianity crowd are grossly misrepresenting our LORD God--okay so I added some words to @Keith Martin :) but guess you get my point and passion! :) :)

AAAAAAmen! Even though I share some of @Slumberfreeze’s feelings.
Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean that they are not after me.

Was at the retreat and a group of kids/adults- started imitating preachers of different denominations. Do you think that it is wrong and insulting or do you think it is ok....

In my view, it really goes to intent. Were they intending to be insulting and mocking, or were they simply being amusing?

The first thing I thought of was how clever they were (the kids) to be able to recognize and able to imitate the different denominations.
