It’s called a mental problem.Even if we took the financial ridiculousness out of the equation, who needs that many pairs of the same shoes that look exactly alike? Why not just have a few nice pair and call it a day lol
Logic doesn’t apply here.

Yes, and too many people feel that buying high dollar items makes themselves feel more valuable. The actual value of the item doesn’t matter.Price depends on what people are prepared to pay.
Right?! But like Steve conveyed, logic just doesn’t enter into it.Even if we took the financial ridiculousness out of the equation, who needs that many pairs of the same shoes that look exactly alike? Why not just have a few nice pair and call it a day lol
Certain brands do last longer that are worth paying more for. My dad and I learned this the hard way with work boots, we used to buy the cheap brands because it was all we could afford but we'd walk them clear into the ground within a month. We started buying the more expensive ones, they helped both of our feet feel better and lasted longer. The value of anything is only determined by the $$$ someone will pay for it.
Yes, because guys won't spend moonbeams on their workbooks so manufacturers can't charge moonbeams for them.
A few years back I read a report which presented the cost for production of a pair of top of the line Nike sports shoes. Total production cost in the sweatshop factory in Bangladesh was US $3.50 but retail was over $200.00 back in the USA. Price depends on what people are prepared to pay.
No dispute with you there. Buying good quality is usually a wise decision for anything we need. You're right however, price doesn't always equal quality but sometimes it does and when it does it can be worth it, particularly when it comes to caring for your feet.
The price is based on the brand name. It has nothing to do with the actual materials, quality, or technology involved. It's so you can tell everyone that you're wearing the fancy brand. That just seems nuts to me. That is far more expensive than high quality work boots made with space age materials, that are extremely durable, water proof yet moisture wicking, warm or cooling, with excellent traction and all day comfort... I guess the price is based more on the target audience than what the product actually is.
I agree generally with this perspective. They may be fakes honestly.
I don't agree with spending a ridiculous amount on shoes, clothes or purses. But I don't think there's anything wrong with a woman having her own style and enjoying herself. Why should a women's entire wardrobe be based around canning, cleaning stalls and gardening. Sometimes we just want to look nice.
Personally, I have 1 set of heels for a dress up event, 2 converse (black and white), 2 boots (black and brown), 2 leather flats (black and brown), and 1 pair of workout shoes. I buy shoes that last and can’t remember how many years ago it was I actually purchased (or were given) any of these.
What’s ironic about that is that most “well off” individuals intentionally don’t wear brands with logos all over them. It’s considered bleh. They very well might have expensive items but it’s not obvious. Basically the big hat, no cattle ways of thinking. The price is based on the brand name. It has nothing to do with the actual materials, quality, or technology involved. It's so you can tell everyone that you're wearing the fancy brand.
It's the same with many other items, clothes, backpacks, cars etc. No one buys Gucci because they're well made, it's so everyone can see you're wearing Gucci.
I saw a Louis Vuitton baby wearing front pack once. It was terribly designed. Very bad for baby's hips and would be incredibly uncomfortable and impractical to wear. But one of the Kardashian lot was wearing it so everyone knew she had the most expensive baby carrier on the market.
Haha I used to have backup sandals too but I tossed them because I never used them. In summer or yard, I’m barefoot. lol. My leather woven flats have holes on bottom but I like them still and I like the way I broke them in plus their style. I used to have a container but it took unneeded space so now they’re stacked in a small corner of my closet.I have gumboots and one pair of shoes. Somewhere in the container I have some nice boots and a pair of sandals I never wear. I also have another pair of shoes that I got at the same time as the ones I currently wear, they're my backup for when these shoes die, which they will soon because there's a hole in the top and they're no longer waterproof.
Mostly, I live in my gumboots though.
So true, sadlyThe price is based on the brand name. It has nothing to do with the actual materials, quality, or technology involved. It's so you can tell everyone that you're wearing the fancy brand.

That was my point. Absurd amounts of money on vanity.I don't agree with spending a ridiculous amount on shoes, clothes or purses.
Absolutely and I glory in my wife being attired in beautiful and lovely clothes and jewelry. But I think you have a point as well, I don't think there's anything wrong with a woman having her own style and enjoying herself.
Fwiw that comment was tongue in cheek. I was mocking the absurdity and vanity of a person who thinks they need a luxury car’s worth of high heels to feel valuable and worthy. Why should a women's entire wardrobe be based around canning, cleaning stalls and gardening, sometimes we just want to look nice.
Everybody has area of indugelence. Something where you are willing to spend no question asked. It is usually some hobby. That was my point. Absurd amounts of money on vanity.

My personal view is that you should buy the highest quality footwear, and everything that you use daily. One off tools, buy the cheapest that will do the job. Shoes, mattress, sheets, tires, those kinds of things need to be highest quality you can afford. That’s called being frugal.
50K+ in high heels is vain and wasteful.
Lookit dem fancy shoes der!I saw this on Facebook Marketplace the other day lol
