Our Common Values .

Okay, lots of good ideas and topics to discuss. Before our discussion goes off in another direction, I want to bring it back to the basic question again:

What would you say are the three to five values that most people here on the forum share in common?

I want to see if we can ask this question not what are OUR personal values, but what values do you see that Biblical Families as a GROUP has in common.

For instance, though He may be called Jesus, Joshua, Yeshua, et al, I think as a group we would recognize Him as the Son of God. This is just an example of what I am talking about.

I see the suggested values falling into some basic categories

-God
-The Son of God
-The Bible
-Marriage
-Family

with various definitions.

Further thoughts?

Blessings,

1. Jesus Christ is Jehovah revealed in a human body, which He rose from the dead, transformed it, and reveals Himself today in it seated in the Heavens. The One True God Jehovah, who is the Consuming Fire, reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

2. The Holy Bible in its original manuscripts was God breathed as Jehovah willed and worked in mortal men to write it, and as Jehovah promised it has been preserved to this time and is found today in the majority text, the text found in the majority of the Hebrew, Greek, Latin and Coptic Bible texts dated before 1500 AD. It is Jehovah's will that we live and die by and according to His Word.

3. Jehovah-Jesus created and established heterosexual marriage for human beings, the marital bond made by solemn covenant or the clear command of God in His Word, a marital bond that binds one of His children/disciples to another of His children/disciples as long as both live (Romans 7:1-3; 1 Cor 7:10,11,39; Mark 10:1-12).

4.Jehovah-Jesus regulated and legislated polygyny as an acceptable expression heterosexual marriage, distinguishing it from adultery and sexual immorality, in Exodus 20:14;21:7-11; Deut 21:15-17; 25:5-10 and Ezekiel 23:1-5. Jehovah-Jesus bestowed some of His richest blessings and covenants on the following polygynists in their polygyny: Abraham, Israel, Gideon, and King David.

5. Jehovah-Jesus has established all human authorities and has decreed that we submit ourselves to them whenever we can as long as our first and supreme loyalty and obedience be to Him and His Word (Roman 13). The Word in Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 10 and Ephesians 4:1-5 gives us guidance in situations when there is a conflict between human rule and the rule of King Jesus.

Greetings Doc!

Just wanted to say thanks for starting this post, as it's a good and important one. It's good for Biblical Families to have a strong/balanced biblical foundation of core beliefs/common values, as you've inquired about. So far allot of good responses, which many I agree with. Please understand that I didn't mean to go off on any rants, to lecture, judge or offend any here. However some of the "posting issues as of late," fit right into what Biblical Families should and shouldn't be about. We want to all always be careful to put a "good/Godly witness out there to the masses," especially for people who are researching pm and are possibly open to the full Gospel Truth & Salvation. Which the Gospel doesn't include a constant contest of who knows more, or who is right about every topic under the sun all the time. There is for the most part, a wealth of loving/balanced Godly wisdom and Encouragement shared here. Lets keep pressing onward & upward as brothers & sisters united in Christ, for His Glory and will being done in each of our lives & on this board. That's all nothing more, nothing less. Take care and Keep on Keeping on with Yashua/God, family & friends. :)

FOR HIS GLORY ALONE,
F.S.

Blessings,

Okay, I'm kinda stealing from Joyce Meyer here regarding the church is like a hosptial with sick people:
We all have the same common problem, regardless how sick or health our Bibilical Families are we need to see/go to a doctor/hospital. So here is how I see it:

- God = The Doctor/Hospital (Church)
- The Son of God = The cure for our sickness
- The Bible = The medicine
- Marriage = Like the payment, VISA, Cash, or check after a doctor/hospital visit either kind (plural, mono, single) is accepted
- Family = The ones who are standing by your side when you check in and leave

FS & Doc,

Thanks to both of you for the kind words. FS, you can borrow anything you want from the post. I borrowed Doc's points and, Joyce Meyer's "the church is full of sick people". Everything after the = sign is mine--borrow away.

Luv Ya, too, Sister in Christ,
Michelle

I have to say DuelingBanjoes, you have been on fire with some great post lately. I think everyone would agree that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and is the basis we should live our lives on.
