Well, I sure hope your video thread goes on forever!

The 1944 King Vidor movie, An American Romance, begins with this narration: "To be admitted into this country, you had to be of sound mind, without a criminal record, and not be a polygamist."

"You also had to have the equivalent of $25."

Vidor never legally married more than one woman at a time, but he sustained a romantic relationship with Colleen Moore during all three of his legal marriages, spanning from the 1920's until his death in 1982, 4 years after he was widowed from 3rd wife Elizabeth Hill. Legend has it that characters in Orson Welles' epic Citizen Kane were based on Vidor and Moore.

I don't like how "daddy" is a romantic nickname. Why would you call your husband that? It's like you think of your husband as a dad. I find it very gross to honest, and creepy as well. Maybe I just don't understand it, but it's very unlikely that I'm ever gonna call my future husband "daddy"

Speaking of this, I still call my parents "Mommy" and "Daddy" even though I'm 15, and I don't see a problem with that. It's what I'm used to calling them! "Daddy" and "Mommy" is just a longer version of "Dad" and "Mom"!

But all of this is just an opinion, let's agree to disagree. ;)

Yeah but then you start talking to each other in front of your kids and suddenly it just happens.

I get what you’re saying though, it is extremely creepy in a certain context.

Oh yeah, sorry about that! It is understandable when you have children, I meant that when a wife calls her husband "daddy" when they don't children it's creepy. I also forgot to mention that some girlfriends also call her boyfriend "daddy", which is even more creepy and gross.

Yeah; when your wife refers to you as 'Daddy' when talking with your kids, she's just using the name they know you by -- but when she calls you 'Daddy' when you're alone in the bedroom, it's creepy in more ways than one: it's generally a reflection of a woman wanting to remain a child, and it has to make you wonder if she might have some creepy attachment to her own father.

Although I don't use it this way, I always thought that using the name 'Daddy' in a romantic situation was a way of showing the husband was in charge. Like a father over a daughter. A covering, a protector, makes decisions etc.
Or maybe it's just some weird kinky stuff that I don't get.

I guess that makes sense, but since we live in a twisted society, it's most likely weird kinky stuff.

I use Babbo that means daddy or father in Italian as of a way of showing that Rusty is the head and just because it is used does not mean that it is a kinky thing and used in that way. It just depends on the relationship and what the husband and wife is using it for. I don’t like when it is used as a kinky thing as well.
