Read again. There are ways to find truth without reading Scripture. How did
@paterfamilias and his wives figured out polygyny without Scripture?
That is a rather dense response!
Truth must be consistent, no matter how you find it.
I made a specific claim and you are employing a "Straw Man". Logical Fallacies are how you attempt to deceive people.
You are avoiding answering question. Where is Lord's command to read Scripture? Surely, He didn't forgot something so important.
Because it is an irrelevant question. I made a statement that ought to be obvious to anyone, but you are too dense to pick up on it!
I remember asking questions here on forum and finding not good enough answers.
You were misrepresenting what the Theory actually states. Again, a Straw Man.
It's not my duty to investigate every scientific theory.
Well that is why you are missing the truth.
The proof is here in this forum.
Fine, read Scripture. Keep relying on second hand report which Bible by definition is. Does Bible contain your personal experiences? No, so it's second hand report.
That is not the correct definition of "second hand". If it was written by someone who experienced it, it is by definition a first hand account.
If I have question, I would do obvious. Ask Lord in prayer.
So did Joseph Smith.
Besides, you are again avoiding answering question. What is more important? Lord or Bible?
Would you leave Bible for Lord?
I would never leave the Bible, and I would never have to, since it reveals who our Lord is. Again you employ the False Dichotomy fallacy.
So Lord has stopped Revealing Himself to people? He did only in good old times of writing Scripture? He must be too lazy now.
He warned us about people who claimed that He would reappear. This warning, you would do well to heed. When He returns, He made it quite clear that His return will be visible to everyone.
You know, Bible is full of personal Revelations of Lord. From memory in Scripture Lord Revealed Himself to Abraham, Samuel and Moses. Then all talked with Lord. He must be deaf and mute now.
False dichotomy yet again!
You know, you can ask for something similar. Are finding yourself not worthy enough of His presence?
His presence is in the form of His invisible Holy Spirit.
I do sometimes sense Lord's personal presence. I ask for it and sometimes He shows Himself. I don't need to know He exist, because I know from experience He exists.
Those who belong to Christ all sense the Lord's personal presence. Where you go too far though, is assuming you speak for Him, and that His already revealed word is not good enough for you. Even when what you assert goes against His revealed Word, you believe your personal experience trumps what He has already stated. If you have had a revelation from Christ, I ask how many dead have you raised to life or healed anyone of incurable diseases, or healed the maimed, blind, deaf or mute? What is your proof that your special revelation comes from God? Was it speaking in tongues? Which tongue? What were you saying when you spoke in tongues? Even Paul could curse a man with blindness! Have you been able to do this?
You can pray for it and He will answer it.
OK. But like the Bereans, everything must be checked against Scripture.
And which spirit did show to Joseph Smith?
He claimed to have seen the Father Son and Holy Spirit.
Besides, why I want want to know what was Joseph Smith's experience, when I can pray for my own?
What I want to know, is how can anyone know that your experience is legit, when you claim to speak for God, just as Joseph Smith did! How can we know that you are not just spouting a bunch of nonsense?
Stop screaming Scripture. Have a normal conversation.
Again, this forum is called Biblical Families. You are in the wrong group. You need to start a group called "Common Sense Families".
Grow up. I don't need to validate your position "must read Scripture" or something similar fo have normal conversation with person.
