Summer 2022 Family Retreat recap and post-retreat discussion

I loved that clip. As a woman and wife, I thought all the ideas were sound. I think a Biblical marriage consists of a strong, godly, loving husband, who leads his family and yet takes time to listen to his wives. He makes the final decisions and rules with a gentle hand. Our Lord does not beat the church over the head, but leads us with kindness and compassion. He loves us unconditionally and always listens, but He is always in command.
The woman is to follow the husband, with love and obedience, because she istrong enough to choose to do so. Even when she disagrees with him, he makes the final decision and she follows.
In our world, this all sounds crazy. But in God's world, and in our Bible, this is the way it is.
Our retreat, full of peace, joy, love, and good teaching, was wonderful. I really enjoyed our strong men standing up for God and for us. I especially loved our worship time. Thank you, you dancers for the Lord, and the Spirit-filled music! I know He was pleased.
I also wish it could have gone another week!

So, ignoring the fact that I gave a wrong answer (wasn't paying attention to the actual question!), I think we now have a retreat video-documenter. I have more things that I want covered next time, Zec!
We got out of the retreat photos habit, because a few people don't want to be shown - but I think we can work around that now, and some video of a few sessions, and candid stuff like this, posted behind a login-wall will have a great value for those who can't make it.

I want everyone who has not gone to a retreat to know something. Nathan does not actually look like his profile photo. I for one was reassured @julieb did not actually marry a dog.

I would love to be a part of something like that.

This video is currently only viewable with this link. If you are anywhere in the video and don’t want to be then let me know so I can cut you out before I post it sometime near the weekend.
My only suggestion is that you replace the face of anyone who doesn't want to be shown with the face of Count Rugen.

Speaking of beards....

There was no #4 type of beard.

I liked that he properly distinguished between a goatee and a Van Dyke.
