The truth from southern Utah

One is a number, and a good one. So is 0. We are all here to learn, it's just nice to learn where others are.

(And if you want to know the truth, you are at a polygamist party :))

So what's the skinny, you married? How did you come to understand polygamy was from God? What is truth?

You said ask anything?

I believe in only one marriage between a man and a woman. Just because men in old testament married multiple women doesn't mean God condoned it. That's why we have free will. In the new testament it doesn't state that there are plural marriages. And polygamy wasn't from God, it's from man. Ever since the fall man did what was right in his own eyes. Doesn't mean everything they did was right.

What you or anyone else believes is of little interest to me as it will have no impact on my eternal future. It's what God has said that's important and we are told in His holy word that it is through the law we have a knowledge of sin. Polygyny isn't a sin the same as celibacy isn't a sin and both came after the fall. The Roman Catholic religion declared that monogamy was the only right form of marriage relationship but I reject that religion and it's heretical dictates, and stand steadfast in the truth of God's word. You introduced yourself claiming to teach the truth but here you are promoting manmade religious traditions. Stick with what is written in holy scripture and you will be in the truth. Shalom

Ok, my little joke has been eclipsed by weightier matters.

Tt: I am The Truth. I have studied Scripture extensively and can answer any questions.

also Tt: The traditional churchian position on polygyny is correct despite what Scripture says.

@The truth do you understand that this is a polygyny based forum? 'Biblical Families' includes all families, those with multiple wives, and those without. The truth is that polygyny is in the bible, it is allowed, and it is not a sin. You cannot prove otherwise from scripture, only from that little voice in your head that tells you that it 'feels' wrong. We must always test everything against the word of God, I'm sure you know this. I'd encourage you to do this research yourself, and ask any questions that you like along the way.

Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy."

Revelation 22:11

If you don't repent of your sins who knows where you might end up to after this life.
Firstly, you've got to prove to me from scripture and not your own ideas where in scripture it says that polygyny is a sin. Secondly, if you've read the bible, then you know there's only two places you go when you die. If you don't repent of your sins then you're going to hell, and if you don't know that already then you need to go learn some milk before you come here trying to get involved in meat discussions or trying to 'teach' anyone.

Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy."

Revelation 22:11
What does that mean, in this context? Do you mean that your intention is to tell us we're doing wrong, but not try and use any sort of biblical reasoning to persuade us to agree with you, so you know we'll continue in our "sin" because you've done nothing to actually try and change our lives? While you proceed to go and be holy somewhere else?

Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy."

Revelation 22:11
If you think polygyny is a sin, you might want to let God know... see Ezekiel 23

Seriously though, what kind of Christ follower claims a title that belongs to his Master alone?

Principles for Marriage

7 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: t“It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” uThe husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband.
1 Corinthians 7:1-2

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and hgave himself up for her, ithe washing of water jwith the word, kthat he might present the church to himself in splendor, lwithout spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.1 mhusbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. nwe are members of his body. o“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and pthe two shall become one flesh.” qlet each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Ephesians 5:25–33

So polygamy is a sin. I stated facts from the bible.

Jeremiah 3:8-11 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

Also verse 14 says that the Lord is married to both of them.

How could God sin?

Also it would be more accurate to say that you assume those passages support your claim that polygyny is sin. Neither passage actually says that polygyny is a sin or that having more than one wife is a sin. They simply tell you how to treat one/all wife(s) and how to get the first. That’s a long way from concluding polygyny is sin.
