"I need an arranged marriage."

Wow, that was....not what I expected.

But, in all seriousness, and with sane people in mind....there is little in the way of help for someone that wants to be on a different path. Yes, if she wants to throw herself into a church then maybe....but for a woman that just legitimately went down a path that didn't work out and really wants something more substantial, what does she do?

There should be somewhere she could turn to at least unlearn what has been sabotaging her and learn the things (skills, way of speaking (this video in point), and areas where she should focus) that may give her the chance of leading a fulfilling life because there is that for the wrong direction but nothing for the right. And you could argue that "church......" but there is a lot to be said for meeting someone where they are and helping them in the right direction without conditions...and eventually the right path leads naturally to God anyway.

That’s a great theory, but it doesn’t work out that way.
People are always super thankful for first little while, then they start acting entitled are just empowered to keep living like they have been.

Like you suggest, desperation is different than brokenness.

The desperate person looks for rescue, and upon receiving it is thankful for a little while, but his or her heart is never changed. Over time, this person will revert to the old and destructive pattern of life.

Other people are truly broken by the Holy Spirit, grieve for their sin, humble themselves before God, get a new heart, and are permanently, and radically changed.

That is the power of God. We cannot cause it to happen.

Sometimes it is hard for us to initially discern the difference. Time will tell.

She may be desperate, but she's primed for someone to call her to repentance and take control.

Situations like this are indications that we are heading for Isaiah 4:1. That's a good thing.
