In Deut:20 There are 3 exemptions and 1 fault for going to war. What is so significant about a new house, a new vineyard, or a new wife that they are all listed as war exemptions?

Building a house is establishing your household with heirs....
You should already have a physical dwelling if you have a wife. Even if it is a tent. There are bare mins... :)

All of these touch on the basic necessities of life, and interestingly enough all these are things mentioned in Exodus 21:10. Shelter, Food, and Conjugal Rights. It means that a man should have his house established and in order before he goes off to war. He should have his home, his land, and his wife all bearing fruit. How can he be expected to fight and help establish peace in the land if his household does not have it?
