I hope they agree on definition of pedophilia. It would be a problem if 19 year old getting killed for being with 17 year old.

Easy solution here is for the couple to legally marry. A 19yo marrying a 17yo with parental permission is legal all over the USA and most of the rest of the world as well.

Are you sure that is legal all over the USA? I ask because, as the joke says, "America is not one big country but 50 little ones" and state laws can be as different as different national laws within ASEAN or the EU.

According to Wikipedia, no:

Minimum age in 50 states:

I looked as well and the info I saw was those with minimum age 18 all had exceptions for various other ages with parental or in some cases judge's sign off. So it looks like the original statement was accurate from what I read, with some nuance.
