The rest of one’s life is as long term as it gets.
They will know why they are taking their last breath, and when they are standing in front of the throne of judgement they will be very aware of why their life was cut short. And they will have eternity to contemplate it.

Most of us here are not concerned with rehabilitation. This idea that you can rehabilitate one criminal overlooks the fact that in the process of doing so, you breed hundreds of others who see the outcome for the criminal you rehabilitated wasn't so dire, and as such, have no compulsion to refrain from committing the same crimes.
Why would you think we don't?
I think you answered your own question here.
1. Lied to her father and husband.
2. Protected the guilty, and she robbed from her own household. The man that took her virginity, and fled is guilty. He’s guilty of not paying the bride price. If he can’t afford it - then he is sold as an indentured servant and the proceeds go to her father.
3. Contributed to the fall of her own nation:

Do not allow your daughter to commit whoredom lest the land commit whoredom and the land be filled with sin.

I will not punish your daughters when they play the whore, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for the men themselves go aside with prostitutes and sacrifice with cult prostitutes, and a people without understanding shall come to ruin.

I didn't say they could be rehabilitated, but said they can't learn.
And rehabilition isn't goal, but restoration of social relationship before crime. Which Christ's sacrifice does for you.
It doesn't optimize your functionality which rehabilitation does.
Oh, there is enough punishment for wannabe criminals. Paying fines isn't fun.
Why would you keep memories of pain, suffering and betrayal?
Imagine having in Heaven as neighbor guy who betrayed you and did you wife. Would you like daily reminder of his deeds?
The flesh of Messiah commands a bride price for virgins. Even if the man decides to dump her - or if her father says no - he must still pay the penalty for his action.
If there is no marriage - his action - according to Leviticus 19:29 - contributes to the fall of his nation - and we later read from the Apostles that men that do such things (fornicate), don’t inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. Think about it - why would men that contribute to destroying their own nations inherit the Kingdom of Heaven? Your time on earth is a test, and the Apostles spoke with great wisdom.
Also - if the man can’t afford to pay the bride price, then he is sold to slavery to cover the debt.
That commandment alone - if the church and state would actually use their partnership to serve the Most High - would naturally bring back biblical marriage structures. Fornication and night clubs would go out of business. The light would move away from the bachelor lifestyle (remember this lifestyle destroys nations), and move towards patriarchy (this lifestyle is pleasing to the Father, and builds nations. Look no further than the house of Jacob/Israel). Boys would have good role models to follow - men that the churches are already reading from every week.
Why? Most men would stop fooling around with virgins. The punishment would be too great (financial ruin or prison/slavery). And women that try to do it secretly risk getting stoned (protecting the guilty - harming her own household - and contributing to the destruction of her city/town/nation). A lot of women would have no choice but to choose between staying virgins past their prime, or choose a man that already has at least one wife (which is not sin).

Don't look too intently at a virgin, or you may find yourself forced to pay a bride price.
The book of Sirach was originally included in the KJV. It came out not long before Jesus Christ’s first coming.
Notice: The warning for lusting over a virgin is not adultery (deadly sin), but financial ruin (or slavery). Why? Because there is a mandatory bride price associated with becoming one flesh with a virgin that doesn’t have a husband - regardless if there is going to be a marriage between their one flesh union.
Psalm 119:142
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law (Torah/Instructions) is truth.
John 17:17
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
“Old Testament law” is an insidious translation.
Correct translation:
The instructions for LIFE, LIBERTY, and JUSTICE from the Creator and Father in Heaven. Liberty is not abandoning the Creator’s Instructions. Liberty is coming back to him:
James 1:25
But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
Why is submission to the Father’s instructions (law) liberty? Because you’re no longer under bondage to Satan - the serpent and deceiver:
Acts 26:18
To open the eyes of the gentiles, so that they may turn from darkness to light; and from the power of Satan unto God the Father, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.
Psalm 19:7
The law (Torah/Instructions) of the Father in Heaven are perfect - reviving the soul.
This teaching is a complete contradiction - even an anathema - to most in the churches today. But it’s all written in our own Bibles. How can someone believe and love that Jesus is Messiah, but not believe or love the words he wrote? The pharisees had this same problem:
John 5:46-47
If you really believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me. But since you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?

Because so much of Churchianity is about ego and power and not at all about God, His Son, The Spirit, and Scripture.
And I didn't say that if kept alive, they couldn't be rehabilitated either.
If rehabilitation is not the goal then, what is the purpose of them learning? No the government should not be playing the role of God. If the sinner is sober minded by his deeds and the realization that the consequences for his sins will be capital punishment, and that brings about repentance, so be it! If not, so be it!
Again, we are not so concerned with rehabilitating the criminal around here.
They don't care though. All they have to do, is hold up another convenience store. Too many times, we are finding that the most heinous murderers on our streets have been in and out of our prison system dozens of times. We are clearly doing something wrong.
Scripture clearly states that we will all give an account for the deeds we have done. Nonetheless, we do have the free gift of salvation offered for all who will believe, and acknowledge their need for Christ and the forgiveness offered from His sacrificial death on the cross.
I cannot imagine that happening myself. Sex will be different in heaven anyhow. We won't have wives, but there will be children nursing and being weaned.
I feel that Yah showed me that bad memories disappear. Not immediately, but with time.
But nursing/weaning children?
