Just Funny Memes

They are not restrictive at all in most states. Only states that are run by radical left wingers.
Of course. @Bartato was specifically talking about purchasing a firearm because it might be his "last chance" to get that particular type of gun (his words). In other words, he is in a jurisdiction where the trend is towards more restrictions. My post related to that specific situation. If the trend could result in restrictions going from "cannot buy" to "cannot own", best not to advertise that you bought one to avoid people coming knocking to confiscate it later. If you're in a state where the trend is clearly in the opposite direction, and that trend is unlikely to change direction, this is obviously not a major concern.
That is true. On the other hand, everything purchased from a gun store (like the rifle mentioned) involves a paperwork trail. There is already evidence out there proving that I bought it.
True. I forget that is the case in the States, because it never really used to be the case here. As our licencing system is per person, not per gun, once you had a licence you could buy firearms for cash with no or very minimal record of the transaction (depending on the situation). Such records have only been tightened up in recent years as part of our recent firearms restrictions, so the government can start to build a picture of who owns what to aid future confiscations. While the restrictive states in the USA have already been building up that dataset for many years...
