I see New Zealand is going to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. You folks down there are really going to lose your country. It'll effectively be a one party state by the end of the decade.
Not quite. The supreme court has said that the restriction of being 18 to vote is “inconsistent with the bill of rights to be free from discrimination on the basis of age”.
Which is stupid, because now they're thinking of lowering it down to 16, wouldn't that be discriminating against 15 year olds?
Labour and the Greens are very keen on it, because they're losing numbers in the polls and younger people tend to vote left. They've written a draft legislation which will go to parliament to be voted on.
However, changes to the electoral law require 75% agreement, which would require National to be on board. They are not.
So it's more likely to stay at 18.

From what I've seen most 16 and 17 year olds around the world have better cognitive skills than the current president of the USA. And if he got a second term....

The liberal media is starting to turn against Biden so I'd say they're opposing the idea of the Potato-in-Chief getting a second term.

What is even crazier is that the right to vote at 18 is in the Bill of Rights Act itself. So the Supreme Court ruled that the Bill of Rights is inconsistent with the Bill of Rights.

Incidentally, we didn't have a NZ supreme court a couple of decades ago. The supreme court was always the Privy Council in London. That meant that if a court case got so high that it had to go to a supreme court, the judges it went to were truly independent of local politics and uninfluenced by local media, so could give a truly independent opinion. This was very valuable and resulted in some notable decisions. The government got rid of appeal to the Privy Council about 15 years ago I think, so that they could set up their own supreme court which they would control appointments to, allowing them to further their own agendas more freely and with the people having less ability to appeal against it.

Clown world.

I have read that USSR dissidents claim that ridicule was their most powerful weapon.

NZ Supreme Court:
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

@FollowingHim What happenes when Supremes are equally divided 3:3?

Laughter really would have been the most effective response to that. Instead they've made it sound like a serious idea by crying about it and calling it heresy. That only strengthens the nonsense, sadly.

Sad news:

But the Koran is okay.

I get so frustrated about having discussions with women about biblical matters. They huff and they puff and then they tell you they are going to seek the Lord and you should too.

I don't need to seek the Lord, lady. The bible quite clearly says we don't know the day or hour of the rapture so anyone telling you it's Dec 5th is wrong.
I guess she'll figure that out in a couple of days.

I wish I could put a laugh and love emoji on your post.
We don't need to pray about what scripture clearly says. I love that clarity and logic. Thank you!!

I soooooooo agree with you!!! I have a fellowship friend who is all caught up with You Tube prophets who are ALWAYS wrong about everything! And she always has an excuse for them.

The question isn't when Jesus will return but when you will meet Jesus. And are you ready for this? Because it can happen anytime.

My fellowship friend is the same person who tells me I fall short on faith because I don't speak in tongues. I've told her that she's confusing a gift of the Spirit with an entitlement. You don't get to tell God what He's supposed to give you.

That one really frustrates me because it's stated in black and white that not everyone speaks in tongues. Yet so many people make this obvious error a central feature of their whole theology.

1 Co 12:28-31
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

There is a difference between the gifts which are public ministry, note the context of your quote, and one’s private prayer tongue.

I crossed out the “shot at cops” part.
