When Obama was president I developed the daily habit of praying for his well-being, despite my opposition to almost everything he was doing.

I guess I need to do the same with Biden, huh?
The voice of reason strikes again.
Dadgumit!

Just my unscientific observation here:

When Obama was President I saw several poly families adding new wives. During the prosperous Trump years I don't think I know of any women who joined a poly family. Not one!

In the course of a chat with Keith Martin I realized that there might be a link here. When times are bad there are more women whose needs for themselves and their children make them consider poly as an option. The thing for a family looking for a potential plural wife is that when the times get bad you have to be prepared to weather the bad times. That means keeping debt to a minimum (like just the mortgage) or keeping out of debt completely if you can. That way any changes to your own income aren't as disastrous as they can be for other people.

With Biden and the socialists in charge of America I expect the economic problems of the last few months to get really bad.

Just thinking out loud about that I guess.
Megan, I think you are on to something here. It is something I've also been thinking about, and considered writing a post on. Maybe this is a good time and place to discuss the issue.

Women need security during times of hardship. In recent decades, the government has been the husband of the vulnerable woman (regardless of her moral status, be she a divorced woman, a single woman, a widow, or a harlot). Big daddy government has protected and provided for her.

Big daddy government is going bankrupt. The State might keep sending people checks, but whether they will be sufficient to meet the needs remains to be seen. Hyperinflation is rough.

I think the hard times are just beginning and will get dramatically worse over the next decade. Will things get Venezuela-Zimbabwe-Weimar-Bosnia-Rwanda level bad? Hopefully not, but anything seems possible these days.

I think things will probably get worse than the 1929 Great Depression. FERFAL's description of the Argentine economic collapse is very helpful here.

I also think extreme tyranny is coming (we have already had very bad tyranny over the past year). Civil wars are probable, and large scale global war possible.

The people leading our nations (be it the USA, Canada,.New Zealand, or the UK) are wicked, depraved and incompetent. The only thing we can trust them to do is make everything far worse.

We might be heading into the great and final tribulation. Then again, we might "only" be facing the collapse and disintegration of the American Empire, and of Western.Civilization, as we have known it. Whatever the case, these are monumental times.

Men should be working to put themselves in as secure a position as possible. We need to be able to take care of ourselves and our families. We need to get prepared to take care of larger families. This could mean additional wives, but more likely will include taking care of elderly parents whose Social Security, 401k, and pension have been wiped out by inflation, or a brother who has lost his employment and his family home.

Times are getting harder, and we need to get tougher. There are so many aspects of preparation that it gets overwhelming at times.

There is a physical aspect. We should focus on good nutrition so that we can fight off disease and have energy to work hard. We need to get healthy and strong.

Weight loss and weight lifting both have their place. Martial arts and some tactical training also seem advisable. Food production (garden, orchard, livestock), food storage, and water supplies are all important.

As Megan mentioned, debt enslaves. Moving towards debt elimination is highly advisable. Savings are generally good, but are eaten up when inflation gets bad. Still, I like having some cash.

Tangibles are good to have during times of inflation and other trouble. This could and probably should include land/property, tools, firewood, guns and ammo, gold and silver, solar panels and a battery bank, livestock, timber, food storage, radio communications (shortwave Baofeng UV5R etc), and more.

Remember that crisis is also opportunity.

Lowe's down the road from us is selling tornado shelters for $4K.

And I'm looking for a contractor to build an underground movie theater to keep us from being bored after the SHTF.

In other news I hear the Titanic could sail again if only it had the right leadership! :p
Great analogy and metaphor!

'Covid' hysteria has been one long drawn-out version of The Emperor Has No Clothes, but now our most recent news distraction is the Palestinians' latest episode of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

How hard can it really be to find a place for 29 people, three horses, two dogs, six cats, and 750 chickens?
And there is probably a budget lurking in the shadows......

Yes, there is a budget. We also need a place without any neighbors right nearby.
Hang on! The right neighbors really shouldn't be a problem. Y'all should be more inclusive! Hmmmph.

:p:rolleyes::);)
