Seems like Australia and New Zealand have reached herd stupidity when people are being fined and arrested for being alone without a mask kilometres away from anyone else. o_O
The "herd stupidity" is the bit where they can be arrested and all the bystanders allow it to happen. The herd accepts it. Just as a herd of animals accepts the loss of a few to wolves.

Hard to stop armed officers of the government when the people foolishly allowed themselves to be disarmed. Not trying to rub salt in a wound but this kind of thing is why we have our much maligned Second Amendment to protect the right to keep and bear arms.

It's not for shooting squirrels, it's for killing the officers of our own government if it becomes necessary. The idea being that the government should never push things so far that people start shooting at them.

And why we've got the 1688 Bill of Rights Act, which gives us the right to bear arms, and which the US second amendment was modelled after. The right to bear arms already existed in English law. The US second amendment simply emphasised that this pre-existing right "shall not be infringed".

Unfortunately all of our governments are actively working to infringe these rights regardless of the law, and although Australia has led the pack we're all being dragged along the same road one way or another.

A random thought. In Gen. 16, when the Angel of the Lord encountered Hagar after she had fled from Saria, He commanded her to return. Paul wrote in 1 Cor. 7:10-11 saying the same thing; A wife is not to depart from her husband but if she does depart she is to remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. There is no contradiction or conflict in the instructions given to married women in the Scriptures. A woman should remain with their husband no matter how many wives he has.

Something relevent that was shared to me this past week.

This explains a lot.

A killing of the mind. Mass psychosis. How an entire population becomes mentally ill.

The Wuhan Flu is more a psychic epidemic than an actual epidemic. The insanity that has taken root over it in many parts of the world underlines this truth.

I see videos from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK showing how these once free people have allowed an authoritarian tyranny to suddenly seize power and I wonder why more of their people aren't fighting back.

I also liked the imagery in your video where the witch hunt took place. Despite all the advances of our civilization it always seems that we're all too ready to look for "witches" and "demons" among us to explain things that sometimes don't need to be explained at all.

Me too.
Unfortunately everyone is scared of covid. I am currently watching all my Christian friends, all my other friends, and all my family get vaccinated. Because they're scared, and because they think it's the loving thing to do.

The other day I went to the supermarket. I'd gone on Monday, and then I went on Friday. We are in lockdown here which means we aren't allowed to go anywhere except the supermarket and home (or another place if we need something essential, like the pharmacy, but most places are non-contact pick up.)
It's now the law that we must wear masks when interacting with people outside our bubble. So, fine I wore a mask. It's the exact same disposable mask that I reuse every time I get asked to wear a mask for like the last year, but ya know, I'm sure it holds bugs in fine...
When I turned up at the supermarket this day, I wasn't allowed in unless I signed in. In NZ we have a covid app the govt has made to put on your phone, and you sign in wherever you go. If you're a shop you have to legally display the code. I don't have the app, so the alternative is to literally sign a form at the front of the shop with all my details to say I was here at this time, and so the govt can contact me if anyone went into the shop at the same time as me and had covid.
Here's the thing, it's not law yet that you have to sign in. It will be law, in about 6 days from now, but it certainly wasn't last Friday.
The guy at the front of the shop kept telling me I had to sign in. He said it was the law, over and over again. I said it wasn't over and over again. I hadn't had to do it 5 days earlier, there had been no one at the door then. He kept standing in front of me, moving in front of where I was trying to get into the shop. We talked for about 5 minutes before I got sick of the conversation, told him I wasn't signing in, and had to physically push past him to get into the shop. As I walked past he said to me "Don't make me come after you, Ma'am."
I was terrified. I kept going anyway. I did my entire shop absolutely terrified. I didn't know if the police were going to come, if I was going to be trespassed from the store (this is happening all around the country if you don't wear a mask right now). It's a big deal if I can't shop there because it's a difference of driving 15 minutes to the supermarket and 50 minutes to the next closest.

Here's the thing, when I told everyone about this, they just said "Well, yes, they changed the law and now you have to sign in everywhere." No! They didn't! Nobody knows the actual truth. Everyone just assumes what some big guy in the supermarket door says to them is true, and that he was right to enforce it on me. And for what?! What is the outcome here? We don't even have covid in the South Island. If we did I'd rather get sick with it anyway and get it over and done with than all this nonsense of lockdowns.
But the point is not covid it's control.

I got the same reaction from people when I took my son to the dentist. They wanted to x-ray him, just because it had been a year since his last x-rays. There was nothing wrong, they do it regularly 'just to check'. Um, no, my kid is not having yearly x-rays just to check. The dentist got mad at me, I stood my ground. When I told people about it they said "Well, yeah, the dentist always does this, you do need x-rays every year." No, you don't! I didn't have that growing up. I'm not subjecting my child's growing teeth to radiation without a very good reason (he had x-rays the year before because he had pain and needed a filling. That, I'm fine with).
People just so happily follow along with 'authority' without questioning it. Out of 'that's what you're supposed to do' or out of fear.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here looking at the world around me thinking everyone has gone completely insane. Even the people I thought wouldn't. Even the people I thought would question, or rebel.

This came to mind:

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn , The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

Maybe if some of the officers in Australia and NZ were to suddenly find their jobs to be dangerous they'd stop acting like criminals.

The police are getting out of hand, but there are people ensuring it is publicised and not accepted. The below article covers the most egregious assault by police that we have yet seen in NZ. Although the mainstream media are trying to ignore it at this stage, widely-read alternative media are covering it. If enough people see this, if they attempt to repeat it hopefully there will be more resistance from those around. Even in this incident the people around resisted verbally, and the police did change their attitude slightly when challenged "You work for us!" by a bystander. The attitude was there, but the bystanders there at the time did not see a cost-benefit value in assaulting police officers themselves.

The majority of the population are passive, accepting sheep. However there are many thousands who are awake and see this as overreach. At the same time, people are aware that there's no point getting arrested and picked off one by one, I expect most people of this mindset are waiting for someone to organise something for them to get behind en-masse. Some small groups are starting to form - peaceful groups spreading information, not militant protest groups. At this stage anyway.

There is much to be discouraged by, and a few small things to be encouraged by. The future is most uncertain.

All of this makes me think of "The scouring of the Shire" and hope and pray that our Shires will be raised and scoured.

The first time I read the "Lord of the Rings" series (over 20 years ago), I knew that was the most important chapter of the book (and part of the reason that it wasn't included in the movies).

FWIW pastor Doug Wilson recently produced a video blog showing the similarities between our current situation and that of the Shire.

Some of our fellow hobbits have actually gone bad, but many (probably most) are just afraid, and complying out of fear (fear of COVID, social pressure, job loss, or abusive government authority).

Hobbits are going to have to stand up for themselves. May God grant us someone like Frodo, Sam, Merry,.and Pippen who won't put up with the crap and will help raise the Shire. Sharky won't go down easily.

I'm so sorry to hear about the abominable activities of your government there in NZ. It is terrible here and you guys have it much worse.

Sadly, my family (parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, all Christian) have been vaxed, and largely believe the COVID lies. My wife and I have not and will not be vaxed (we had COVID and it wasn't much more than a regular cold, with slightly different symptoms).

At my workplace, they are increasingly pressuring everyone to be vaxed. I'd say half of my coworkers have so far rejected it. (I work with a lot of gun toting, red blooded Americans) Some of us will stand strong, but others will cave if the pressure gets high enough.

More and more people are waking up, but I don't know if it will happen quickly enough.

Apparently the social shame I have faced over accepting the lawfulness of polygyny has helped toughen me up.
