Both will most certainly seek my approval and highly desire to receive it, and you don't know me, but I failed in certain key respects in my role as husband and father, so, ultimately, they will choose their own husbands, including doing so against my wishes if they're determined to ignore my cautions.

Oh, they need it; it just didn't occur to me how much they would need it while I was raising them, but the three of us are working to make up for lost time now to some degree.
