2019 Summer Conference and Family Retreat (late July)

Well, it was the first retreat for us as a family, and I believe everyone enjoyed it and wants to do it again.
The kind of fellowship experienced at retreats is not typical and far exceeds the kind of fickle "faux fellowship" of most churches that require adherence to their doctrinal statement.
It was great to meet so many new people, and to see respectful young people being raised in strong families.
We are on the road home now, and words just aren't going to do justice to the experience. I cannot believe how fast the time went.....and I'm already looking forward to next time.
A big thank you to everyone who planned, prepared, and made the retreat possible.
You can tell people are believers by the love....and this group shows love in everything they do.
We were blessed.
We were beyond blessed to get to meet your family as well as many other new friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.

So thankful to my friend Jolene for inviting me to join her and her beautiful family on their vacation to the bf retreat. I will cherish the time spent with them as a family. (Wow Jo... You're an awesome mom, consistent friend, resilient and amazingly strong woman!! Blessed to call you my friend) What an exciting new experience to see people living this life successfully and all the children who truly are the proof that more mom's means winning spelling bees! It was wonderful meeting so many likeminded families. Thank you for all the kindness this week

Thank you to everyone who set this all up. We had a wonderful and blessed time and it was great meeting new friends. I really do think that the heavenly Father had HIS hand in it.
Also it was like deja vu, we've met before Paula was the same way, everyone looked so familiar.
The whole weekend was truly a blessing for us.

@julieb I made some Lavender Lemon tea cookies because I was thinking of Samuel and Sarah and just wish they could be with us.

@Patricia C the Lavender Lemon cookies were amazing! I love that you were thinking of Samuel and Sarah. Thanks again for making them.

A big THANK YOU! to all who spent time to come, spent money to come, gave of themselves in fellowship once they arrived and gave of their energy to help clean up before they went. :-) It was such a blessing to meet new families or meet the kids of families for the first time! The Lord gave us a good weekend and I am personally thankful for all who helped make the logistics of it happen. Thank you to everyone who helped with the meals and clean up, without your help I wouldn't get to enjoy the retreat.

You know Julie maybe during the coming retreats we can have a sign up for helping so that it doesn't rest solely on anyone person or persons. I guess I needed to be a little more observant and ask where help was needed. I am sorry for that.

I second this.....also a sign up list for child care. You do so much Julie!

I'm so glad you were able to make it to the retreat!
Thanks for the kind words. I have been blessed by your friendship as well. :)

Now I'm home and back into a busy summer schedule. The trip just went too fast.

As I headed home today from work, my mind traveled back to a week ago this evening--I was at retreat--thoroughly enjoying connecting with friends from last year, friends that I've met since last year's retreat, and meeting so many new friends! It was just down right hard to said goodbyes on Sunday and Monday as one by one families headed home. The icing on the cake was to get additional time with @Keith Martin and @Joleneakamama's wonderful family 4 hours after leaving the retreat at @Verifyveritas76 and @Well loved wife 's house breaking bread and more fellowship before we all finally split up and headed home.

What a weekend it was! The skits on Saturday morning were hilarious. @nathan needs to somehow find a way to share his video of them with everyone here on the forum. Conversation and interaction with "The Panel" was priceless. I feel like I learned a lot! The Foot Washing on Sunday evening was a bonding time few get to experience.

Tuesday evening as I picked up the Patriarch's Journal handed out by @Keith Martin (a big thank you BTW), I was truly amazed as I realized the overall theme of the weekend--unplanned by anyone--100% orchestrated by our Father! The lady's session on Friday afternoon centered around "The Litmus Test" for us a believers. We covered several vines on that branch but all centered around the test. Then @julieb artfully handled the Saturday afternoon lady's session, and we found ourselves touching again on The Litmus Test from the previous afternoon. Some of The Panel's comments circled the theme. So when I began reading @nathan's lead article "Loving" in Patriarch's Journal and then encountered again The Litmus Test verse (John 13:35), it was impossible to miss the full orchestration of the whole weekend retreat. Add to that the bookmark handed out on Friday at the lady's session which pressed home the point of what gets anyone beyond 100% in our daily walk--"The Love of God" based upon an alphabetic code. @Keith Martin's article in the Journal "Are We Doing Something We Have to Make Up For?" poses the thoughtful question which can be avoided if we quit trying to "make up for it" and just "live it" as @andrew so often encourages.

I'm sooooo glad I had the privilege to be in the midst of our BF family. I'm looking forward to the next one. It can't come soon enough.

And where can I read this Patriarchs Journal?

Wonderful retreat. My whole family was blessed. Is it just me or do they just seem to get better and better? These really are can't miss events.

I hesitate to mention anyone specifically, for fear or leaving someone out, but I (we) really enjoyed meeting old friends and new.

The Christian fellowship was wonderful.

And I got my walking in!

And I still need your vote. I am your man!
