As I headed home today from work, my mind traveled back to a week ago this evening--I was at retreat--thoroughly enjoying connecting with friends from last year, friends that I've met since last year's retreat, and meeting so many new friends! It was just down right hard to said goodbyes on Sunday and Monday as one by one families headed home. The icing on the cake was to get additional time with
@Keith Martin and
@Joleneakamama's wonderful family 4 hours after leaving the retreat at
@Verifyveritas76 and
@Well loved wife 's house breaking bread and more fellowship before we all finally split up and headed home.
What a weekend it was! The skits on Saturday morning were hilarious.
@nathan needs to somehow find a way to share his video of them with everyone here on the forum. Conversation and interaction with "The Panel" was priceless. I feel like I learned a lot! The Foot Washing on Sunday evening was a bonding time few get to experience.
Tuesday evening as I picked up the Patriarch's Journal handed out by
@Keith Martin (a big thank you BTW), I was truly amazed as I realized the overall theme of the weekend--unplanned by anyone--100% orchestrated by our Father! The lady's session on Friday afternoon centered around "The Litmus Test" for us a believers. We covered several vines on that branch but all centered around the test. Then
@julieb artfully handled the Saturday afternoon lady's session, and we found ourselves touching again on The Litmus Test from the previous afternoon. Some of The Panel's comments circled the theme. So when I began reading
@nathan's lead article "Loving" in Patriarch's Journal and then encountered again The Litmus Test verse (John 13:35), it was impossible to miss the full orchestration of the whole weekend retreat. Add to that the bookmark handed out on Friday at the lady's session which pressed home the point of what gets anyone beyond 100% in our daily walk--"The Love of God" based upon an alphabetic code.
@Keith Martin's article in the Journal "Are We Doing Something We Have to Make Up For?" poses the thoughtful question which can be avoided if we quit trying to "make up for it" and just "live it" as
@andrew so often encourages.
I'm sooooo glad I had the privilege to be in the midst of our BF family. I'm looking forward to the next one. It can't come soon enough.
