Like until the glory of the Lord covers the earth like the waters cover the sea

There's obviously dips within the overall upward trend, and we have been in one all our lives. Nonetheless, the general trend of the last two thousand years has been upward.

Jesus is the Savior of the world.
The God Man changed history forever, and no one can thwart His Plan.

2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. The general trend the last 70 years has been downward. The last 20 years with the advent of social media its been a nosedive. What is down is up. What is up is down.

Just compare with how women dress now versus the 1950's. Girls are sleeping around and having abortions. Boys being feminized and following idols (sports for example). Our food is fake with gmo and fake sugar. The lawless lyrics in music, and the forced homosexuality in movies/shows/video games. Pride month parades. Transgenderism. The cities are full of drug addicts, thefts, violent crime, homelessness, and closed businesses. The schools no longer have Bibles in them.

Churches exchanging their free speech for money:

Our Savior's blood is there as a Holy Sacrifice. But it requires repentance, and then comes the sanctification of the Word:

Luke 5:37
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

If someone loves the world and what it pushes out - they probably still have the "old wineskins." That's why the pouring of the new wine will likely just be spilled. It won't sanctify them. This explains why there are christians still at the club, women rejecting authority and headship, fornicating and having abortions, listening to lawless music, supporting pride month, and other lawless behavior. Go through the Scripture - lawlessness (without repentance) always leads to judgement. We're heading into judgement.

Please don't mistake my confidence in the ultimate long term triumph of Christ in this world, as optimism for our culture in the present moment.

History is long, and nations and peoples rise and fall.

Our culture is under divine judgement, and I expect things to get far worse in the near future.

I hope people will turn in repentance and the complete destruction of our society may still be avoided. I don't know if that will happen.

Christ will nonetheless win. All authority is already His. The nations will be baptized and discipled. The gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. He is the Savior of the world.

Before all that comes to pass America may burn. We may have nuclear war. We may have unthinkable horrors. Famine, war, economic disaster, and plagues are all on the table.

The death of an apostate America, or fallen Western Civilization will not thwart Gods plans.

"You shall know therefore that Yahweh your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;" (Deuteronomy 7:9 LSB)

A thousand generations is roughly 30,000 years of history and we are only about 6000 years post creation.

Maybe this use of "thousand generations" is not meant to be taken literally. Maybe it is. If so, we have a long way to go.

Also remember that while the west has been falling for the last 100+ years, the gospel has simultaneously made inroads and great progressn in other societies.

Yes, there will be a new Heavens and new Earth, an eternal state.

Yes, it also seems like the Bible teaches that Jesus will also win here on this earth.

According to one source, it wasn’t the Secret Service who took out the sniper, it was a state or local team.
I don’t know if this is true, but it would look even worse for the SS if it is.
